Principal of Operation
Servo reducers are design to increase output
torque of a servo motor without sacrificing
the desired performance of the servomotor.
The reducer needs to be stiff, come
close to zero backlash, and perform at the
desired speed and torque.
The planetary design concentrates maximum
contact between gear teeth of three independent
helical gears with a center load gear. The
gears are tempered for wear-resistance and
core hardness.
Selection of a gearbox for the servo motor
requires careful calculation of the moving
load. The gearbox is select based on the
peak output torque and the speed at which
the load needs to be moved. The goal is
to select the most economical gearbox that
is proportion in size to the load torque
and speed requirements.
